Palettes for Philips Hue ยท Effective September 2026
Palettes is built to control your lights, not to collect your data. In short: we don't collect, store, sell, or share any personal information.
What stays on your device
- Bridge connection. Your Hue Bridge's local IP address and the access key it issues to Palettes are stored only on your iPhone (the key in the iOS Keychain). Forgetting the bridge in the app deletes them.
- App preferences. Small settings, such as whether music is on and how many shows you've played (used only to decide when to ask for a rating), are stored on your device.
Who Palettes talks to
- Your Hue Bridge, directly over your home network, to read your lights and rooms and send them colors.
- Philips Hue's bridge discovery service (discovery.meethue.com), to find bridges on your network when you connect. This is a standard lookup that Hue apps use; it's governed by Signify's own privacy policy.
- Apple, for in-app purchases and restores, handled entirely by the App Store. We never see your payment details.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising.
- No data sent to us or to any third party by the app.
If you contact us, we receive whatever you choose to send, including the app and iOS version that Help & Feedback adds for troubleshooting. We use it only to answer you and don't share it.
Children
Palettes doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
